New $5 fee coming to Fort De Soto

New $5 fee coming to Fort De Soto and Fred Howard parks in Pinellas - St. Petersburg Times

There was no realistic, practical way of avoiding it any more. A fee of five dollars per car will be charged at Fort De Soto Park. Most people will agree that it's still one of the best bargains in Florida. Frequent visitors will be able to get a $75 annual pass, and people on foot and bicycles won't pay a fee. The method of collecting the fee hasn't been decided yet, and it won't be official until Pinellas County officials approve the budget.
